G. Grinius, General Director
Mr. Grinius has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Boston
University. In 1968 Mr. Grinius and Mr. F. Biewer founded Offshore Model
Basin. (Then known as Offshore Technology Corporation).
Dr. Nick
Markov, Technical Director
Dr. Markov has a Ph.D. in Naval Architecture from Yokohama National
University in Japan and a Masters degree in Mathematics with
qualification in Fluid Dynamics from Sofia University in Bulgaria. He has worked at the
Bulgarian Ship Hydrodynamics Centre for 3 years as research scientist
and head of the Engineering Software Dept. prior to joining OMB.
Subrata Chakrabarti,
Ph.D. P.E., F.ASME, F.ASCE, Technical Consultant
He is a former director of Marine Research at Chicago Bridge and Iron
with 28 years model testing experience. Design and Analysis of Offshore
projects include Dubai storage tanks, CBI Submersible, Garoupa Mooring
Tower, North Sea Production Platforms, Gulf of Mexico Platforms.
Dr.
Neal Brown, Ph.D., Technical Consultant
Dr. Neal Brown has a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture
from MIT. He joined BB&N Corporation after MIT, and then founded a
company named Atlantic Applied Research Corporation. For the last three
years, Dr. Brown has been a consulting professor at the University of
New Orleans. Dr. Brown’s accomplishments in hydrodynamics are too
lengthy to be mentioned here.
Michael Lambert, Consulting Engineer
Michael Lambert has approximately 25 years experience in the field of
Model Testing, beginning with his employment in the original Offshore
Technology Corporation. He currently works on a consulting basis
for OMB. He provides service in assistance to OMB Engineers for
the planning and implementation of modeling techniques required for the
programs.
Mr. Dwight Craig, Facilities Manager: Dwight Craig is
responsible for all maintenance: buildings, hydraulic plants,
water chemistry, and electro-mechanical equipment. He also designs
and builds custom components needed for test setup and configuration
changes.
David Toh, Test Engineer: David has a BS degree from
the University of California Berkeley in Materials Engineering
Science. He is responsible for marine model stress and motion
examination and wave environment analysis. He is also responsible
for website design.
Phil Rhyner, Test Engineer:
Phil joined OMB
July of '07. He comes from Rhode Island and brings a passion for
ocean technology and wave mechanics. He received his degree from the
University of Rhode Island in Ocean Engineering with a focus on
signal processing, acoustics, and offshore structures.
Jeff Brown, Senior Electronics Technician:
Jeff Brown joined OMB in as Senior Electronics Technician in October
2006. He brings 28 years of instrumentation experience acquired in both
commercial and R&D settings. Jeff's responsibilities include instrument
specification, calibrations, system upgrades and process development
activities.
