SMARTER®
The new SMARTER-II mooring (and SCR) simulation is an upgrade of the regular SMART, which can be used for accurate modeling of vertical forces and moments due to deep and soft mooring and SCR lines. It works well at very large offsets - no slack (or too stretched) lines are possible with SMARTER-II due to the dynamic self-adjusting mechanism of the vertical exit angles. The system is designed to model accurately the vertical forces of every line, but to be softer than the target horizontally. A horizontal spring system is added to match the horizontal stiffness. The new system has been implemented in the recent test.
