The HUMAN
POWERED SUBMARINE CONTEST 2006 will be held at OMB from July 20th to
July 23rd
A semi-submersible model with 8 active azimuth thrusters
is being tested. The test program includes thruster-thruster interaction,
thruster-hull interaction, and station keeping tests. Nautronix Dynamic
Positioning system is implemented. The DP system holds the model in
place in hurricane waves and wind.
OMB Newsletter
Three Noble Drilling semi-submersible models were tested in the waves of
Katrina, Rita
and Ivan.
OMB Fully Automated: A single push button starts waves, wind, tow, PMM, data,
external DAQ Synchronization and video at specified times.
Multiple target (6 DOF) tracking used in the
recent ASOP (ONR), and Kikeh (Technip) projects.
The new Krypton Optical Tracking System is implemented
in the current tests.
Sonar
monitoring of the basin water depth implemented.
SMARTEST
and SMART+
- These
two
systems were developed to simulate very deep taut mooring lines over
extensive (400 – 500 ft) horizontal offsets.
SMARTER®
-
SMART's 'extended range' simulation implemented for
deep and heavy mooring and SCR lines.
Recent basin tests
with photos are now online.
