Introduction to Facilities

The basin at Offshore Model Basin (OMB) was constructed in 1969 and has been in continuous operation except for a short period of expansion and change of ownership. OMB has a history of over 25 years of model testing that covers the era of semi-submersible drill barge development through jacket installations, swath development and currently, heavy testing of spars.
